Michael, son of Sandra Burgess-Botten-Dean and Bill Botten; brother of Matthew Botten and Tracy Dean; father of Krista and Kelsey Botten, died of diabetic complications, after a long painful struggle to live. He was always smiling when others were around, despite his broken dreams and broken body. He was a loving, caring man who served as a volunteer fireman and a maintenance technician until he could no longer work.

He loved his daughters with all his heart and missed them each and every day. He struggled to get better and to save money to bring them out for a visit or to make the trip from Oregon to Iowa to see them one last time.

We miss him with all our hearts. Life will never be the same without Mikey.

Rest in peace, my beloved son.
